Haewon Chon is a policy analyst at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Joint Global Change Research Institute in College Park, MD. His research focuses on developing R&D investment strategies for low-carbon energy technologies using the GCAM integrated assessment model framework. His recent work includes examining large-scale technology combinations and their impact on the cost of climate stabilization, stochastic dynamic programming for the effects of delayed technology research and development, and assessing comparable mitigation efforts among developed countries. He received a BA degree in Economics from Seoul National University and An MPP degree in Environmental Policy from The Maryland School of Public Policy. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the same school.
