Economic Screening of Geologic Sequestration Options in the United States with a Carbon Management Geographic Information System
Authored by R Dahowski, James J Dooley, D Brown, A Stephan
Abstract:
Developing a carbon management strategy is a formidable task for nations as well as individual companies. It is often difficult to understand what options are available, let alone determine which may be optimal. In response to the need for a better understanding of complex carbon management options, Battelle has developed a state-of-the-art Geographic Information System (GIS) model with economic screening capability focused on carbon capture and geologic sequestration opportunities in the United States. This presentation describes the development of this GIS-based economic screening model and demonstrates its use for carbon management analysis.
