Senior Climate Economist at at Established Global Investment Management Firm

Established Global Investment Management Firm is seeking to hire an Climate Economist. The Firm prides itself for independent thought.

The role is going to be part of the Climate Change and Sustainable Investment initiative of the firm.  The candidate will be expected to make immediate contributions to the firm’s understanding of climate change’s impact on economics that add value to multi-asset investments. The successful candidate will be expected to provide informative and accurate analysis of how climate change and potential policy choices impact both developing and developed economies around the world.



Perform analysis bridging climate science, government policies, and economics. Translating scientific predictions about physical systems into economic projections and implications for financial markets under various policy scenarios in collaboration with internal economists and portfolio managers.

To help lead the preparation of estimates of the impacts of climate change over the next 10-20 years on the macroeconomic outturns of developed and emerging economies applying various climate change pathways in collaboration with internal country economists.

Research and produce outstanding thematic reports to educate and enhance the firm’s and its clients understanding on economics of climate change.



  • Passionate about climate change and economic risk modelling.
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD degree preferred. Degree in economics and/or environmental science or related field.
  • Open to varied levels of professional experience 3-10 years.
  • Have applied experience in performing climate change impact on economies.
  • Have expertise in finance and/or financial markets.
  • Have expertise in creating/adapting Integrated Assessment Models (preferred)
  • In depth programming experience in one of MATLAB, R or Python (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic record in and experience in applying Econometrics, including Time Series modelling.
  • Excellent communications skills, with demonstrated ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
  • Driven, autonomous and responsible – must be able to meet deadlines.
