General Equilibrium Modelling and Climate Change Economics

Full-time contract 3 years

The position is part of PARIS REINFORCE, a H2020 project that will start in Spring 2019.

 

Background:

PARIS REINFORCE aims to underpin climate policymaking with authoritative scientific processes and results, and enhance the science-policy interface, in light of the Paris Agreement and associated challenges. In particular, our aim is to develop a novel, demand-driven, IAM-oriented assessment framework for effectively supporting the design and assessment of climate policies in the EU as well as in other major emitters and selected less emitting/developed countries, in respect to the Paris. The consortium encompasses thirteen leading European research institutes.

You role will be to contribute to the development of a General Equilibrium Model at LEURE within the REINFORCE project and to participate to the studies carried out in this context.

Requirement:

  • PHD in economics with a knowledge in computable general equilibrium modelling and/or applied mathematics, energy economics and economics of climate change.
  • Experience or familiarity with Integrated Assessments of Climate Change
  • Software: Standard office software, GAMS, Matlab
  • Fluency in English, the command of French is an advantage
