NCAR Societal Dimensions Working Group meeting

The winter meeting of the Societal Dimensions Working Group (SDWG; of the NCAR Community Earth System Model (CESM) will be held February 26-27, 2014, at NCAR in Boulder, CO. It is open to anyone who would like to attend. It will be held back to back with the meetings of the Land Model and Biogeochemistry working groups. Dates for the full set of meetings will be February 24-27; the day to day schedule is listed below.

The Societal Dimensions Working Group focuses on fostering interactions between the IAM community and CESM (or earth system modeling more broadly), as well as between CESM and the water management community. The agenda will include short presentations based on submitted abstracts, plus some solicited talks or organized discussions on specific topics. If you would like to give a presentation, please send a title and 200-500 word abstract by FRIDAY, January 10, to Brian O’Neill (boneill at or Allison Thomson (Allison.Thomson at While topics of focus include land use-agriculture-climate interactions, and the treatment of water in IAMs and ESMs, abstracts on any topic related to the human dimensions of earth system modeling are welcome.
